| In 2006 the Toledo Museum of Art opened its Glass Pavilion, a building designed to be both gallery for the Museum's outstanding collection and a glassmaking studio. Like the new gallery, this catalogue of 100 key pieces from the collection demonstrates 'the astonishing ways in which artists have utilized and responded to glass'. The pieces range from ancient perfume bottles to modern glass sculptures, each accompanied by a full and informative commentary on the artist, the artefact and its cultural and artistic context. |
